A frantic evening at Texas Motor Speedway saw Scott Dixon take his third win of the season. Dixon was involved in a three-way fight for the lead with Helio Castroneves and Bruno Junqueirafor the first half of the race, but as the race progressed and long periods of green flag conditions separated the field, it was Marco Andretti who looked the favourite for the win. But Dixon managed to recover just in time, overtaking Mario Andretti’s grandson with 6 laps to go. Andretti’s day was further ruined after touching wheels with a combative Ryan Hunter Ray, sending both cars into the wall. The race finished under caution with Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe completing the podium.
